Dear Friends and Neighbors in Ward 6 and Burlington,

Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit the website that has been created for me to communicate with you, the voters and residents of Ward 6. It is an honor to represent you and everyone in Ward 6 on the Burlington City Council.

Taking office on April 7 and having the opportunity to serve your needs means a great deal to me. Having grown up in Ward 6, attended schools here and raising a family in this ward with my husband, Mark Saba, I am deeply humbled by the trust you have placed in me. It is a trust that I take seriously and will work as hard and as diligently as I can to earn your respect and confidence.

As the only Councilor to have a website in Burlington, I am learning to some degree as we go along and welcome your comments and suggestions. I will try to post what issues are coming before the Council so you are informed and the process between you and me is transparent and open. I believe that my job as Councilor is to help respond to your concerns, advocate on your behalf and fight to ensure that Burlington preserves its precious neighborhoods, develops its downtown and commercial areas intelligently and respects and values its residents with a process that invites input and dialogue.

I have always felt that it is important to represent what is best about our city. We have so much to be grateful for in Burlington – our beautiful waterfront, downtown alive with culture and our city that has become vital and diverse. We have our challenges but they are not insurmountable if we work together.

Here in Ward 6, we have many unique neighborhoods, with people who care about one another and are always willing to get involved to improve their community. Over the four weeks that I went door to door in February, I got to see first hand the diversity of our Ward and was truly warmed by your company and kindness you showed me.

I am committed to public service and making the City of Burlington a better place to live, work and play. So, please explore this website as it is intended for your use and benefit. Please use it to learn about all of the great things going on in Ward 6. I am available by email, by phone and would be happy to meet in person to discuss any issue that is important to you.

Again, I welcome your feedback and will look forward to working with you and hearing from you in the days, weeks and months to come.
